All Materials.

- Sketchbook and pencils

- Acrylic Paint and Brushes

- Canvas Board (for final painting)

- Sketching, drawing, mixed media, and construction paper as needed

Each class will include various arts and crafts activities and all of these supplies will be provided.

On occasion, your child will be asked to bring in a special item to help with the lesson. Some examples of these items(though not limited to this list) include:

- Images to paint (photograph, magazine cut out, print out, etc.)

- Found objects (for stamping, drawing, painting, etc.)

- Food items (for stamping, drawing, painting, etc.)

- Magazines (for collages, inspiration, etc.)

This class has a more in depth focus on acrylic painting. Students will learn various painting techniques using brushes, palette knife, and other tools.

Several canvas and fine art paper will be provided for various shorter paintings, portraits, and still lifes. A stretched canvas will be used for their final painting which will be the subject matter of their choice.

Since this is a class of older students, I use their input to direct the classes. Some techniques we will touch on are drawing techniques with sketching pencils, charcoal, and pastels. We will discuss the elements and principles of design and how we can add them into our artwork as well as brush up on proportion and perspective. However, depending on what students find interest in, we will steer the class accordingly. This is a great class to help with portfolio building for university/college.

For those students who have taken this class already, you are welcome to take the class again. Although there will be some repetition on techniques (colour wheel, proportion, etc.) the activities to follow will be varied and therefore still enjoyable for everyone.

*Disclaimer: Some of our drawing books include nude drawings. These are typically used in learning human proportion, which will likely be discussed in this class. Although we will not be drawing nude figures, your child may see these drawings.

After registering for this class, you will receive a receipt directly to your inbox. Please hold onto this for your records.

If you no longer wish to participate in the art class, you have until two weeks prior to the first day of class to receive a full refund minus a $20 processing fee. After the two-week mark, you will only be offered a 50% refund. No refund will be provided after the first week of class.

If there are not enough students signed up for the art class to proceed, you will be notified prior to the start of the class and will receive a full refund.

Last day to sign up is Tuesday, January 2, 2017. After the closing day, the price will go up by $20 to compensate for the late ordering of materials.

Thanks so much!

Looking forward to seeing you in class! Can't wait!
