So lots has been happening over at my end here so I wanted to do an update post this week to let you all in on all my news!
The first thing that's coming up for me is that I will be setting up a more permanent shop in Arts Market which is located on College St. in Toronto. It's basically what I would be selling at a weekend market but it's a place where my clients can go anytime which is really amazing and I'm super lucky to have gotten the space so quickly. I just set up my shop yesterday, so if you follow me on Instagram (if you don't yet, then you should! --> Follow Me Here!) then you've probably already seen some behind the scenes set up shots!
Come June and July (and possibly August and September as well) I will be back at the Leslieville Flea Market in the east end of Toronto. The June event is slightly different though because instead of being at the usually location of Ashbridge Estate, the Leslieville Flea is moving to the Distillery District during the Jazz Fest. I'm super pumped about this because the Jazz Fest is a huge event in Toronto that brings in tons of traffic. Plus, it will be super fun being in the midst of it!
You may have noticed that I have some new products I'm offering in my Etsy shop! I now have blank greeting cards available for any occasion. What sets these greeting cards apart though is that they are each original acrylic paintings on the front! That's right - no prints! Currently I have abstract cards available but soon you will also be seeing animal cards as well. These will be making their premiere at Arts Market. Each card ordered on Etsy is made to order so if you have specific colours or animal you'd like then it can totally be customized for no extra cost.
This is a bit of a tough news update for me because it's something I've been struggling with making a decision on for several months now. Finally, though I've decided that this is the right option for myself at the moment. I will moving back to Windsor as I am pursuing a new project (read about this below) with my mom and I feel there are other artistic opportunities that would only prove possible in Toronto. All that said, I will still be back and forth to Toronto quite a lot still since there are still great things happening here (see items above) as well as my boyfriend, Thom, still living here. Although we are sad we won't be living together for the next little while, Thom loves his job in Toronto working with kids and it's important we see how things play out for me and my new projects in Windsor before he makes the commitment to move back as well. Who know, I may want to come back to Toronto permanently after all!
I mentioned a new project that I will be working on with my mom. This is something that has been in the works for a few months now and finally it's starting to play out. We are trying our hand at house flipping!! Isn't that super cool and exciting? It's a great opportunity in the Windsor housing market (houses are super cheap but it's starting to pick up again) and with my interior decorating skills, and my moms knack with project management, plus my dad's engineering experience, and my brother's construction savvy - I think we've got this in the bag!
So that's what's new around here! All of these new and exciting journeys starting plus I'm still taking online decorating clients (find out if it's right for you --> here) and adding new paintings to Etsy (almost) every week (visit my shop --> here). Phew!
It feels great to be busy and pushing myself to try new things!
Is summer the time when you like to pursue new goals? What's things are you trying out this summer?
